The question

"Have you ever had a girlfriend?", he asked me. We had been discussing women, as is our wont as guys. "No," I replied, trying to keep my face and voice expressionless as I braced for the inevitable question about sexual history. Miraculously, I was spared. Perhaps it had something to do with his being 20 years old and having little to show for the past few years except a few children? Thank goodness he tends to associate with other guys who don't see dating/relationships as a prerequisite for sex.

  1. Thanks for your comment on my blog. I will be reading yours :)
I was once asked by a (male) friend whether I was a virgin. I lied and said no and I don't think I have ever blushed so much in my life. I dread being asked that sort of question so bluntly.

  2. Thanks, Katya!

:winces: I'm really grateful I've never been asked that question. I can recall having blushed only once in my entire life. I'm sure being asked would make it twice. :)

  3. I commend your honesty. I've never been asked this question and thankfully because I'm really not sure how'd I respond. Although, one guy did once pose the question: "how long ago was your last relationship?" To which I responded: "Um...it's been a very long while." Translation: never.

I like your blog and will make a note to visit from time to time! :)
